Patterns will be posted approximately one (1) week before the show. 4-H Classes will use this years Fair Patterns.

Rule Clarifications & Class Corrections:

Rule #16 – Horses may NOT cross-enter Ranch Trail and Trail; Ranch Rail Pleasure and Western Pleasure; Ranch Riding and Western Horsemanship; or Ranch Reining and Reining. Horses are allowed to cross enter 4-H and Ranch classes but Ranch class rules must be followed. The cross entry limitations in this rule do not apply to stakes classes. 

Rule #19 – Exhibitors are allowed to show a maximum of three (3) horses per class that are individual pattern work only. This also applies to 4-H classes. Individual pattern work classes include the following types: showmanship, trail, ranch trail, equitation, colt to maturity, green horse, horsemanship, reinsmanship, ranch riding, ranch  reining, and reining.  

4-H Trail classes have been corrected to follow the level based classes offered during fair:

• Class # 54. 4-H Trail – Horsemanship Level 2
• Class #55. 4-H Trail – Horsemanship Level 3
• Class #59. 4-H Trail – Horsemanship Levels 4-7

Facility Map & RV Camping:

A limited number of Full RV Hookups are available but only in the “Camping and Carnival” lot located in the South West corner of the facility. See area labeled on Facility Map.

Dry camping and using generators allowed in the Trailer Parking areas for no charge.

Please visit the following link for purchasing a camping space (location as noted on the exhibitor map) for the weekend of the Open Horse Show, August 1 & 2, 2026.

Please register to create a profile and select the ‘Horse Camping’ option. This selection is $50 per night per camping space with full hook-ups. Please add additional quantities for multiple nights in the same space (max. of 3 nights – July 31-Aug. 3). Once your selection is added to your cart, you should be able to insert your payment information which will submit your request for approval. The MontanaFair Entry Office will approve exhibitors and reserve the space, and assignments will be sent out by July 30. *Availability may be limited.

Bulk shavings are available for exhibitors to bed their own stalls. Please strip your stalls before leaving the show on Sunday to help prepare the facility for the 4-H Horse Show the following weekend.
